“For me the song “Release Me” is about that moment when you realize you’ve pushed or been pushed too hard. The video became a bit of a satire on the hamster wheel effect of releasing music under the influence of major corporations.”

All eyes will be on Old Trafford this weekend for the Manchester derby, with City looking to consolidate their position above cross-town rivals United at the top of the Premier League table.
The atmosphere will be electric, and the players usually deliver on the pitch, too. Here’s our rundown of the top 20 Manchester derby moments…
20) September 14 1985 was a bad day for the Blue half of Manchester. A suspiciously large number of United fans managed to grab tickets in the City end – you can see them being led to safety in this clip – and Billy McNeill’s newly-promoted side were hammered on the way back down.

18) Newly promoted to the Premier League officials list, George-out-of-George-And-Mildred lookalike Alan Wiley made a name for himself in a 1995 FA Cup derby when, with City deservedly leading 1-0 just before halftime, he turned the game with possibly the worst refereeing decision ever seen at Old Trafford. Which, to be fair, is saying something.
Just last month, Hugh Grant didn’t seem entirely sure about whether fatherhood had changed him. Now, he’s willing to concede it has indeed.
“Everyone was right all these years, saying, ‘Hugh, why don’t you have some children? It changes your life,’ ” the actor, 51, and dad to 6-month-old daughter Tabitha, says in an interview Friday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“Now that I have [a child], it is life changing,” he says. “I recommend it. Get some!”

Tabitha’s mother is Grant’s ex Tinglan Hong, who is Chinese. In Friday’s interview, Grant reveals that one of Tabitha’s other names is Jīngxǐ, which, he explains, has something to do with how she was conceived.
“I can’t pretend it wasn’t a little bit of a surprise,” Grant, who stars in the new film Pirates! Band of Misfits, says. “But it’s a very nice surprise. In fact, the baby’s name in Chinese, because the mother is Chinese, means ‘Happy Surprise.’ “

When the jumbotron at the Los Angeles Lakers game announced to the crowd that it was Jack Nicholson’s 75th birthday yesterday, there were unprecedented cheers from both sets of fans.
Then, the entire crowd stood to honour the longterm season-ticket holder, who though clearly touched… responded with typical, insouciant charm.
Nicholson has been sitting courtside for the legendary Californian basketball team since the 1970s, so he deserved the applause.

He was recognised at his 70th with a cake, so it must be no surprise, but he was cheered nonetheless.
Jack Nicholson has been nominated for an Oscar ten times, won three of those and is tied for second place with Katharine Hepburn in the most nominations… only trailing Meryl Streep.
In 1999, Nicholson was presented with the Golden Globe’s Cecil B. DeMille Award lifetime achievement award.
The actor still lives in the same Mulholland Drive home he has owned since the ’70s, when his neighbours were close friends, Marlon Brando and Warren Beatty.

Buddy birthday: Jack was with his friend, the actor Harry Dean Stanton - who is 85 years young
The area was nicknamed ‘Bad Boy Drive’ because of this year, and after Brando died, Nicholson bought his dilapidated home out of respect for the Rebel Without a Cause actor.
He’s also the one man who Robin Williams famously claimed hell-raising Rolling Stone Keith Richards would have to bow out before when it comes to partying.
He’s been the star power at the heart of classic films like One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and The Shining but Nicholson is almost as famed for his love of the ladies.

Nicholson has been romantically linked to numerous actresses and models, including Michelle Phillips, Bebe Buell, and Lara Flynn Boyle.
Nicholson’s longest relationship was for 16 years with actress Anjelica Huston, daughter of film director John Huston, from 1973 to 1989, and he said the end of it broke his heart.
However, the relationship ended when the media reported that Rebecca Broussard had become pregnant with Nicholson’s child.
Nicholson and Broussard had two children together, Lorraine, now 21, and 19-year-old Raymond.
Nicholson’s other children are Jennifer,47, and Honey Hollman,30.
Last year, he told The Daily Mail: ‘I’m definitely still wild at heart. But I’ve struck bio-gravity. I can’t hit on women in public any more. I didn’t decide this; it just doesn’t feel right at my age.’

The 18-year-old has been seen smooching a brunette who looks almost identical to the Disney star for the short film which accompanies his new single, Boyfriend.
She’s clearly supposed to represent the Canadian superstar’s 20-year-old partner, thankfully the youngsters are wise enough not to to follow J-Lo down the path of flaunting real-life relationships in music videos.

Tyra Banks has one photo in her hand . . . and none of them belong to America’s Next Top Model’s Nigel Barker, J. Alexander or Jay Manuel.
Host and producer Banks, 38, has fired her panel of experts, The New York Post’s Page Six reported Friday. They were reportedly informed Thursday morning that their contracts would not be renewed for Cycle 18.

Banks later confirmed that photographer Barker, 39, runway coach Alexander, 53, and creative director Manuel, 39, will be leaving America’s Next Top Model via her official Facebook page.
“To my Nigel Barker, Miss J, and Mr Jay: Thank you for all of our years together on America’s Next Top Model,” Banks wrote. “Working with you is always an absolute pleasure. Excited for what the future holds for us.”

Barker, Alexander and Manuel have been with America’s Next Top Model since its inception in 2003. Previous judges include Janice Dickinson, Kimora Lee Simmons, Twiggy, Paulina Porizkova, Andre Leon Talley, Beau Quillian, Eric Nicholson and Nole Marin. As of Friday, judge Kelly Cutrone is expected to return for Cycle 18.

Return: Fans of the rapper were overwhelmed by the hologram
Legendary rapper Tupac Shakur was brought back to life with a giant hologram at Coachella.
The deceased hip-hop star performed a song by himself before collaborating with Snoop Dogg, who was headlining the massive California festival.
Together they sang Come With Me, Gangsta Party and Hail Mary – a song that Tupac has never performed live and was released after his death more than 15 years ago.
Tupac, who was shot dead in Las Vegas in 1996, looked remarkably lifelike.

Bare-chested and wearing a pair of jeans that looked circa 1995, the famous ‘Thug Life’ tattoo was seen clearly across his front.
The high-tech 3D image of the late star, which cost a reported $10 million, was used by Mariah Carey to perform five simultaneous concerts across Europe last year.

The hologram left everyone in disbelief with Katy Perry, who is at the festival, posting on Twitter: “I think I might have cried when I saw Tupac.”
And the late rapper was one of many special guests who joined Snoop on stage.
